If you’ve used BuyBotPro, considering buying it or at least have looked at the website you’ll already know the features on offer. Do you use them to improve your sourcing and boost your business effectively though?
Let’s discuss 7 ways BuyBotPro can supercharge your sourcing.
Power-Up The BuyBotPro Score
Ok, starting with an obvious one, but how often have you made life more difficult than it needs to be by ignoring the obvious answer? How you use the BuyBotPro Score is down to you though.
Find a product, find the Amazon listing, input the price you’re paying and bingo….a few seconds later BuyBotPro gives you a green light (if your intuition is right!), a high percentage score and a handful of key factors it has used to decide this. Simples.
However, to really make the most of this (and frankly, use it properly), you need to make sure your settings fit your business model. Scroll down to the criteria in the settings and fill in your numbers.
Decide how much profit is worth your time and effort, what return on investment (ROI) you want to achieve or, if you are BSR-led, set you max and mins.
It’s not all about the least you’ll accept or the highest BSR, either. You may want to dis-count any BSRs under 100, for example, as the likelihood is Amazon will be on it or could be an IP candidate. Or too high an ROI may result in questions from Amazon about your pricing. Easily decide what is worth your time to deep dive into, or invest in, with just the BuyBotPro Score.
Not all Amazon seller businesses are built the same, or they would all sell the same stuff
Personalise your business, and manage the risk factor you are happy with, by punching in the numbers in the criteria that will show you the right BuyBotPro Score very time.
Use Manual Sourcing To Work Much More Time Efficiently
Free stuff doesn’t come much better than this. Your new best friend when it comes to scouring online stores is the BuyBotPro Manual Sourcing plugin. You’ll need to loosen up the right-click button on your mouse though!
When the powers that be added this function it’s possible they didn’t realise its power, as if you have BuyBotPro already then this is all part of the package.
Best. Freebie. Ever.
Find yourself a product on your favourite online store for finding deals, right click and pick your marketplace from the Amazon FBA Deal Analyser in the menu. Hey presto, in the same tab, a window will slide open with all the related listings on Amazon.
Is this the best time-saving plugin for sourcing?
Maybe, just maybe. You don’t even need to view the individual page for the product you are looking at. No more flipping between tabs, or split screening to analyse deals. Being able to open BuyBotPro on the same tab and do a full analysis is a proper time-saver. You can open the listing on Amazon on another tab from there if you are more comfortable with the chaos that ensues, but learn to minimalise….it’s so much more productive!
The Competition Analysis And What It Should Mean For You
“Amazon FBA has so much competition”. “It’s so saturated on Amazon now”. Familiar with seeing this kind of thing plastered around the Amazon seller groups? It’s hard to argue in some cases, but who are these competitors you’re being warned about?
Knowing your enemy gives you an edge….
Ok, we’re not suggesting military-style combative responses, but knowing a bit about who else is selling an ASIN can be really useful. There are some telling signs though that, just because there are a good few sellers on a listing, doesn’t mean you can’t make it work. Knowing what to look for on the BuyBotPro Competition Analysis panel can be really powerful.
There is SO much information here. However, using just a couple of the numbers you’ll see, you’ll get a great insight into what kind of deal you might have.
It’s what you decipher from the numbers that’s the key for success
How many, how and what they sell at is pretty obvious, but dive into their reviews and stock levels and you’ve some really revealing information. Reviews may seem insignificant, but a pattern may reveal more about the cause for price volatility than anything else.
Lots of sellers with no, or few, reviews? Likely they are new sellers so could be they will sell out and disappear. Might be they don’t even last on Amazon. Mostly stores with high numbers of reviews? Much less likely to tank prices perhaps, or long term sellers on that listing just keen for consistent pricing.
How you read these numbers is up to you, but don’t discard them as they WILL tell you something
Even the stock levels don’t just tell you how many a seller is holding. Supressing the number available on Amazon is an old trick, but it’ll be pretty obvious who is and who isn’t. Lots of sellers with a handful in stock? Likely they’ll have rather more than they are willing to divulge. There are dozens of ways to read this data, so don’t bypass them, learn their value to YOUR sourcing.
Open More Doors With BuyBotPro
In the dark ages, you’d look at a listings BSR and if you fancied it search for it on Seller Central and hopefully find out if you could sell it without any repercussions. If you were unlucky (or lucky!) you’d be told you were gated, and perhaps invited to apply to sell it. If you were lucky (or unlucky…), you’d be able to list it, stock up and fulfil in whichever your particular method was your bag.
Getting caught out with potential IP issues, or falling foul of Dangerous Goods, was a lottery
BuyBotPro have a built-in panel for that though, and it’s one of the first ones you see. Not only do you not have to mess around clicking over to Seller Central, filling in the details and see if Amazon fancy you or not, you can see if you meet all the eligible criteria. If you don’t there’s a link straight to where you can apply to become eligible to sell it.
You’ll probably have been around long enough to know now that, just because you aren’t automatically eligible to sell in a category or a brand, it doesn’t mean Amazon won’t let you. Using the Eligibilty tools, if you aren’t eligible to sell the ASIN you are checking, you’ll be able to find out what you need to do to apply.
Sometimes Amazon will give you a thumbs-up straight away, other times a string of documents are required – either way you could be on your way to opening a whole new income stream.
A few lines down from there, though, in a familiar traffic-light format, you’ll also see the IP Radar. Now, there’s no magic way of changing your status here, almost surprising really given the power BBP has!
Even Bezos must wonder how BBP does some of it’s magic…
...but, in this case, just knowing what the radar tells you will save you ages (and cash!). A red light might be an opportunity for you to gain a footing in a brand that other sellers have been blacklisted by, or have just been scared off from. There’s nearly always more than one way to see a problem!
Take A Long-Term View With The BuyBotPro Charts
Are you investing in stock to flip within weeks? Most sellers are. Keep the cash-flow going, don’t exceed your stock limits, etc. etc…..
A long-term view doesn’t necessarily mean hold stock for an age and wait for prices to increase. Taking a longer term look at the history of a product than just what it has done in the last month or three, will help you buy more stock that will sell tomorrow.
Spot patterns in a listing to time your attack!
Reading data might be daunting, in fact it might be the thing that prevented you from getting into Amazon reselling in the first place. Not everyone embraces numbers. Watching a graph or chart ebb and flow, visibly telling a story, is a much simpler – as well as faster – way to see the journey of a listing.
The stock wisdom you will be given from the start, if you follow the Amazon gurus and groups, is look at the last 90 days. Has it sold, has the BSR held or dropped, is it making profit….the usual factors. Venture into it’s lifetime history, or just how it has behaved over the last year…
…you’ll easily see if the ASIN performs better at different times.
Perhaps a big retailer has it on sale at certain times of the year, maybe its seasonal, are there other factors that mean NOW is the time to list, or hold on for a few weeks. There are no guarantees, but having this information feels a lot like cheating, just with less guilt….
Is Quick Look The Future Of Reverse Sourcing?
Nowadays, the far-less trodden path to finding deals is reverse sourcing. As tools such as BuyBotPro and Online Arbitrage Deals have emerged, scouring online stores has become the stock method for sellers. How about switching it once in a while though?
Knowing a products sells on Amazon takes a big chunk of the hassle out of the process,
and now BuyBotPro has, albeit as we write in Beta, the tool for you. Quick Look is right there in your Amazon search screen. A little box with some vital data. Not only do you get the BSR, but without having to click into the listing you can see all the BuyBotPro goodness in a popup.
And guess what, you’re already paying for it as it’s, yet another, free upgrade
All the charts are fully-functional, so toggle the data that you want to analyse, see how many sellers, heatmap….all the stuff you’ll get on the BuyBotPro extension.
If it ticks your boxes you can open the extension, again without having to go into the listing, and fully analyse it. To make life even simpler a link to the search results on Google is in there too.
How many sellers hadn’t even thought about reverse sourcing?
Well, with Quick Look it seems likely that more will add it to their routine. If your online arbitrage journey needs a bit of a recharge, there’s no easier way to venture into reverse sourcing.
Go Rogue With The BuyBotPro App
Shopping trips will never be the same again. Everyone loves a bargain, or a discount. A quick look at the reduced to clear shelves when you’re out grocery shopping never hurts. We’ve all hoped we’d find something we needed at a third of the normal price, no? Well, what about the rest of the things on that shelf…..
….someone, somewhere will need it. Everything has buyer!
You could use the Amazon Seller app, which is actually quite functional, to see if it is listed, what it sells for, get a rough idea of profit levels etc. etc. Much like Online Arbitrage selling, it’s a bit a of a juggle switching around pages to get all the information you need, and requires a bit of guesswork. Only it’s worse as you are stood in a shop doing it.
Retail Arbitrage is SO much faster with the BuyBotPro app
A quick scan of the barcode, you get all the information you’d get on the desktop on one screen. RA requires a different approach to OA, apart from anything else you have to be in a store, but opportunism is equally essential.
The BuyBotPro Score has never been as powerful as it is in the app
- you might be battling other shoppers, your parking might be running out, or maybe you’re even trying to dodge the store manager! The score will give you a really quick look at whether an item is worth it. You can scan and analyse a dozen different products in a few minutes once in the flow.
If you are a seasoned OA seller, new to the game or contemplating the dive in, mix in a little RA when you’re out and about. After all, the app is right there on your phone, just waiting to be loved.
