REALLY Using The Competition Analysis
Selling on Amazon successfully is arguably all about who you are competing with. The Competition Analysis reveals more than just who is selling on a listing, and there is some great detail in there that the successful sellers lap up.
The selling prices on a listing can reveal a LOT about what can be expected from it
The spread of those top ten sellers can reveal a great prospect or a dead listing very quickly. Whilst it is heart-warming to see half a dozen or more sellers sharing the Buy Box with a common price, it signals to some a product that could take a while to move any stock.
Yes, if the Estimated Sales Calculator suggest it sells hundreds a month this would be nice to have a share of….
….but if it’s more like one or two a day it may be a while before any significant stock holding would move.
Reading between the lines is often key to making a success of selling on Amazon
It’s easy to reject a deal because the selling price is too low to make a good profit, if any. If the Competition Analysis reveals that just one or two sellers are at that price – and with a fairly low inventory count – there can often be a healthy gap to the next few sellers.
So much can be gleaned from the Competition Analysis, not least what CAN be achieved on a listing like the example above

The Alerts And Dashboard Sections
We’ve mentioned this one already as it SHOULD feature high up in your new BuyBotPro layout, but the details within it will definitely save you valuable time on ineligible listings.
They don’t just save time though….they can open new doors to sellers too
As it sounds it should, the Alerts section warns of any reasons an ASIN may not be eligible for you to sell – or at least when you may want to do a little further due diligence.
The IP Radar is a big one as can cause some pretty troublesome issues with selling privileges if you fall foul of a brands rights claims.
Catching potential problems early can avoid time-consuming appeals later, but also at the time of sourcing if you have a hard-line approach to risk. You’ll just be able to quickly skip on to the next product.

Crucially, the Dashboard tackles any eligibility issues a product might cause. None of them are unsurmountable, in fact the eligibility checker has a cool feature on its own….

It’s hard to really push on and gain real success selling on Amazon without opening up the doors to new brands and categories….
These two sections offer a lot of warnings – and green lights – specific to your seller account status

That also goes for any Hazmat warnings.
If you aren’t in the Hazmat program, this is the prompt you need to do so….

That in itself is a possibility too – most really successful Amazon sellers rely on the FBA model, but they will ALL have alternative selling platforms.
FBM, if it offers good value, will often be one of those….
….they will almost certainly NOT be restricting themselves to only Amazon’s FBA network
